ART at TCC
In our visual arts classes, children will get to study various art techniques and explore a multitude of media types, including drawing, painting, crafts, design, architecture, printmaking, sculpting and photography.
Each class will provide the young artists with an opportunity to learn a new technique, try a new type of media or work on a project. Our visual arts classes aim to provide children with a fun experience in which they can develop their creative skills and self-expression.

Story Time Art
Ages: 18 months -2.5 years old with Caregiver | 2. 5 - 4 years old
Class Duration: 45 minutes
Take Story Time to a new level with this FUN caregiver and tot art course! Every class will begin with a story time session, followed by an explorative mixed media project based on the story of the day. A variety of art mediums will be utilized, from drawing, and painting, to clay, STEAM, and more in order to help your little artist learn to translate their story interpretations from idea to reality.
If you have kids OR adults in your life with creative minds that want an outlet to express their creativity, our artistic MMA class is the place to be. Throughout this course students will have the opportunity to play with and explore a wide variety of materials including drawing with pencils, charcoal and pastels, as well as painting, collage making and more.

Help a young artist build their self-confidence and unleash their potential with our drawing fundaments course. This class is designed to be both fun and informative for creatives of all skill levels. In this class students will also be introduced to animation and illustration techniques. Students will have an opportunity to create their own characters or learn how to draw their favourite animated friends.
Whether your young artist knows how to draw already or not, if they want to explore painting, they belong here! Each week course participants will be given a different assignment, with teacher-led instruction and then be set free to channel their inner Picasso and either paint as-instructed, or interpret the assignment in their own way. Types of paintings covered include still life, landscape, portraiture, abstract expressionism and more.

If you live with science-curious young learners then STEAM classes (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) are the perfect choice. Bridging the gap between arts and sciences these classes will help build curiosity through hands on experiments and group activities.
Kids who love fashion should look no further than this new course for their next extra curricular. No previous experience or sewing skills required just an interest in exploring the world of textiles, patterns, colours and textures as they relate to fabric! Younger students will do projects that include tie dye, t-shirt making, and no-sew bags while older students will be introduced to sewing fundamentals like stitching, embroidery and pattern drafting.

Clay & Sculpture

Hands-on learners need tactile activities and our exploration of clay and structures class is the perfect place to develop their skills. From slab building and coiling methods to sculpting and décor techniques, students will work with modeling clay, air-dry clay, sculpy and other materials that enable them to learn ceramics basics without the wait times that kiln firing techniques require.
Calling all young, creative entrepreneurs, this course is your next stop on your route to launching your very own artistic business. Throughout this class students will learn a valuable combination of early business basics skills while also getting hands-on, making simple, and one-of-a-kind handmade products like bath bombs, candles, body scrubs and more.
