Code of Conduct
The Creative Child supports each child in reaching their individual potential through respect, encouragement and care. Our vision is to be a joyful community hub where every child, parent and caregiver feels safe, relaxed and at-home, free to express themselves, connect with others, and discover the magic of the creativity within them.
By registering with The Creative Child, parents/guardians and participants agree to the following:
For Children
Children are expected to:
Be kind and respectful to instructors, volunteers, and other participants.
Use encouraging words and actions.
Treat materials, equipment, and the facility with care and respect.
Participate in activities in a way that is safe for themselves and others.
Include others and celebrate everyone's unique ideas and creativity.
For Parents/Guardians
Parents and guardians agree to:
Treat staff, volunteers, participants, and other families with courtesy and respect.
Ensure their child arrives on time and is picked up promptly.
Inform staff of any medical conditions, allergies, or special support needs that may affect participation at drop-off and during the online registration process.
Address concerns respectfully with staff, away from the children and/or after the programming is completed.
Safety
To help maintain a safe environment:
The Creative Child will not tolerate any physical aggression, bullying, harassment, discriminatory language towards campers or staff, or intentional damage to property by any participant. Camper may be suspended for one or multiple camp days.
Children must remain within designated program areas unless accompanied by a staff member or parent/guardian, as appropriate.
Staff will contact parents/guardians, and the incident will be recorded.
Behaviour Support
Our goal is always to teach and support positive behaviour. When challenges arise, staff will:
Redirect and remind the child of expectations.
Speak privately with the child to problem-solve.
If required, staff may redirect behaviour or temporarily remove a child from an activity.
Communicate with parents/guardians if concerns continue.
If behaviour poses an ongoing safety risk or significantly disrupts the program, The Creative Child reserves the right to suspend or withdraw a participant from the program. No refunds will be issued.
Our Commitment
The Creative Child is committed to providing an inclusive, welcoming and nurturing environment where children of all backgrounds, abilities, identities, and experiences feel valued, respected, and supported through programs that encourage self-expression, imagination, and personal growth at every age.
Parent/Guardian Acknowledgement
